The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in Somalia has received land for setting up National Emergency Management Center.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the country’s Minister of Health, handed over the piece of land to representatives from the humanitarian ministry on Thursday, December 24.
Several dignitaries and senior officials of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) witnessed the event.
Omar M. M. Filish, the Mayor of Mogadishu who doubles as the Governor of Benadir Region, also attended the ceremony.
The establishment of the National Emergency Management Center is critical to the country’s ability to strengthen its responses to national emergencies.
