Somalia’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Development Management, has urged international partners and aid agencies to respond to the crisis in Salahley.
Heavy rainfall that hit the township for the past days created a humanitarian crisis.
Extremely strong winds also worsened the situation thus leaving many residents without food, shelter, and water.
Consequently, the humanitarian ministry has appealed to organizations such as United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Somalia for help.
The ministry also sent out an appeal to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Somalia and the Somali NGO Consortium to step in before the situation becomes hopeless.
Furthermore, the ministry urged “fast response” to help the affected people in Salahley.
