The humanitarian situation in Somalia remains precarious.
Catriona Laing stated this while addressing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Thursday.
Laing is the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN.
Amb. Laing added that the international community has to respond to the situation fast.
She cited several factors that worsen the situation.
Some of these factors include conflict, climate change, and underfunding.
Amb. Laing added that over 8.25 million need urgent humanitarian assistance.
