The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is holding the maritime case pitting Kenya against Somalia without the former’s presence.
On March 15, Kenya reportedly informed ICJ of its intentions to withdraw from the maritime case.
As the case came up for hearing later in the day, Kenya’s legal team was conspicuously absent from the proceedings.
The case proceeded on Tuesday once again without Kenya’s presence.
However, ICJ opted to proceed with the matter.
The Hague-based court said that it had already received submissions from Kenya on the matter thus the absence by the East African nation was not a big issue.
