During an operation conducted at Bosaso, Puntland security forces discovered and seized several explosive devices.
According to authorities, the Daesh group had set up the devices in the area with the intention of targeting civilians and government soldiers in the region.
The devices seized include suicide bombs and ground bombs.
Authorities announced that the operation, which has been ongoing for the last nine months, led to the killing of a senior member of Daesh.
Additionally, security forces were also able to arrest the leader of Amniyat’s branch in Bosaso.
Several people who detonated an explosive that killed five people, who included security officers in the area, were arrested too.
