Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has called for the full implementation of the pre-election agreement signed in Somalia in September 2020.
IGAD made this call on December 20.
On Sunday, it held an Extra Ordinary Session to discuss several issues affecting the region, including the latest diplomatic spat between Somalia and Kenya.
It encouraged leaders in Somalia to implement the agreement signed between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS).
Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok of Sudan chaired the 38th Session of IGAD.
IGAD noted that Somalia had yet to hold local and parliamentary elections, which were due in December.
