The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has stated its readiness to work closely with the newly inaugurated President of Somalia.
Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, the IGAD Executive Secretary, offered this reassurance after attending President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s inauguration.
The inauguration ceremony took place in Mogadishu on Thursday, June 9.
Dr. Gebeyehu congratulated President Mohamud on the inauguration.
Afterward, the IGAD Executive Secretary reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to work with President Mohamud and his government.
He urged President Mohamud to lead his government to deliver on their priorities while consolidating peace and development in the East African nation.
