The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) will pursue increased collaboration with Somalia in promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the country.
Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, the IGAD Executive Director, announced this in his meeting with Mohamed Beenebeene on Friday.
Beenebeene, the Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, briefed the IGAD Executive Director on the ongoing plans and activities in Somalia.
They also agreed on the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Somalia and IGAD.
The meeting is proof of the ongoing efforts of Somalia and IGAD to work closely together toward creating a bright future for the people and government of the East African nation.
