India claims that its naval officers intercepted yet another vessel that was hijacked near Somalia.
Indian Navy claims that its officers were in the area patrolling the Arabian Sea when it encountered the suspected hijacked vessel.
However, they never provided details on the number of hijackers caught or crew in the ship too.
The vessel in question was identified as FV Al Kamar 786, which is an Iranian ship. Indian Navy rescued it roughly 165kms to the southwest of Socotra, a Yemeni island.
The area where the incident took place is near the eastern tip of Somalia.
India has consistently deployed its navy off the shores of Somalia since 2008 to fend off pirates.
