The international community has been urged to support efforts designed to stabilize Somalia.
Lt. Gen. Sam Okiding, the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) Force Commander, called upon the international community to do more to stabilize the East African nation.
He called for more input from the international community in peacebuilding efforts in the country.
Specifically, Lt. Gen. Okiding said that the country needs support in areas such as security, the lifting of the arms embargo, and deploying critical force enablers.
