International partners have called for the speedy conclusion of the ongoing parliamentary elections in Somalia.
The partners issued a joint statement on the elections on March 18.
They spoke on the issue three days after the deadline for concluding the House of the People (Lower House) elections expired.
In their statement, the international partners called for more dialogue and consensus among all stakeholders.
They stated that Somalia would only complete the polls once all stakeholders pursue a path of dialogue and consensus.
Their statement comes on the day that Puntland became the latest regional state to conclude its parliamentary polls.
Now, only HirShabelle and Jubbaland remain the only states yet to conclude their polls.
Thus far, Somalis have elected 242 out of the 275 Lower House legislators.
