International partners have urged Somali leaders to push for the completion of pending elections in the country.
The partners released a statement dated April 5 through their representatives in Somalia.
In the statement, they commended Somalia for concluding 91 percent of elections for the country’s 275 House of the People (Lower House) seats.
They urged Jubbaland and HirShabelle to conclude elections for the remaining seats soon.
The partners commended State Elections Implementation Teams (SEITs) and the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) for working hard to ensure that polls take place.
Newly elected parliamentarians are set for a swearing in ceremony on April 14.
Currently, FEIT is issuing certificates to the newly elected parliamentarians from the Lower House and Senate (Upper House).
