Internet services have been restored in a newly liberated district in Somalia.
Authorities issued permission for the restoration of Internet services in Harardhere, a district that was under the control of Al-Shabaab for years until a few days ago.
Al-Shabaab had controlled the district for close to 15 years.
In that time, they interfered with Internet services thus ensuring that the area remained in darkness.
They did this to prevent news of their illegal and criminal activities from reaching the world.
For years, Harardhere was the base of foreign terrorists and a depot for illegal trade in weapons.
