Investigation Team Says NISA Not Involved in Death of Female Spy

An investigation team has absolved the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of any involvement in the death of a female spy.

The team, which began its work on November 3, took 18 days to investigate the alleged disappearance and murder of female agent, Ikran Tahlil.

In its report published on November 21, the team reached a preliminary conclusion.

It exonerated five NISA officials who had been accused of involvement in Ikran’s disappearance and murder.

Ikran’s family continues holding on to the hope that their daughter is alive.

The five officials exonerated include Fahad Yasin, who had been the Director of NISA prior to his sacking by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

The Prime Minister was convinced that Yasin knew of Ikran’s death.

Others exonerated were Asma Yusuf Omar, Yasin Farey, Abdullahi Kulane, and Abdiqani Wadna-qabad.

Ikran’s family named these officials when it issued a statement on her disappearance on July 24.

The investigation team, which was led by Brigadier General Abdullahi B. Kamey, a military prosecutor, said that it received full cooperation from NISA.
