IOM Reiterates Commitment to Resolving Acute Shortage of Water in Somalia

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reiterated its commitment to resolving the acute shortage of water in Somalia.

IOM published a statement on February 17 indicating the plans it has for addressing acute water shortage in the East African nation.

It mentioned the emergency activities that it continues to undertake in the country to address the water crisis.

The global organization mentioned the various programs it runs in conjunction with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to provide more persons with access to safe water.

IOM assured the people of Somalia that it would continue working with United Nations agencies and local partners to address the crisis.

Specifically, the organization listed the groups it targets.

These groups include displaced persons, rural communities, and migrants who have no access to clean and safe water.
