IOM Says 7.4 Million Somalis Need Urgent Humanitarian Aid

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has said that more than 7.4 million Somalis need urgent humanitarian aid.

IOM said this through Ewa Naqvi.

Naqvi is IOM’s Deputy Chief of Mission in Somalia.

Naqvi was speaking during the ongoing Somali Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Summit in Mogadishu on Monday, August 8.

According to the Naqvi, the East African nation has witnessed a sharp rise in rural to urban migration.

She says that the ongoing drought has contributed considerably to this trend.
