The International Organization for Migration (IOM) held training for eight mobile patrol immigration officers in Somalia.
IOM Somalia announced that the training was for helping the officers improve their skills in using Mobile Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS).
MIDAS is a state-of-the-art piece of equipment.
Through the training, IOM hopes to equip the officers with skills that enable them to improve the collection of migration data.
Further, the training enables the officers to manage the flow of immigrants into and out of the East African nation.
