On December 14th, 2024, President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, appointed Eng. Hussein Adan Igge Deyr as the official Spokesman of the Presidency.
This marks the first public appointment made by the newly sworn-in President.
Eng. Deyr brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as the spokesman during President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo’s administration and later as a cabinet minister.
His appointment, formalized through Executive Order No. JSL/XM/WM/222-220/122024, is effective immediately and has been widely praised by the media and journalists, who see him as well-suited for the role.
