The Italian Army, which is more commonly referred to as CIMIC, donated tons of medical equipment to Demartino Hospital.
CIMIC delivered the supplies to arguably one of Somalia’s largest hospitals on April 28.
The donations included emergency medical drugs.
Several health facilities in Banadir Region also benefited from the donation of the medical drugs and equipment.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, Somalia’s Minister of Health, represented the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) at the handing over ceremony.
Alberto Vecchi, Italian Ambassador to Somalia, led the delegation from the European nation to deliver the supplies.
