Italian Undersecretary of State for Defense Visits Somali President

The Italian Undersecretary of State for Defense paid a courtesy call to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia on Thursday.

Undersecretary of State for Defense Matteo Perego di Cremnago visited President Mohamud at Villa Somalia.

He led a delegation of Italian government officers.

Cremnago and President Mohamud discussed the need for strengthening the historic bilateral ties between Italy and Somalia.

Further, Cremnago assured President Mohamud of Italy’s commitment to improved cooperation with Somalia on security and development.

Italy is already one of Somalia’s most important international partners.
