Las Anod is Now Calm, Says Speaker of Somaliland Parliament

“The situation in Las Anod has now calmed down,” the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives has said.

Speaker Abdirisaq Khalif Ahmed said that he had witnessed the improved situation firsthand.

“I have just returned from Las Anod and the situation has improved significantly,” Speaker Ahmed added.

Speaker Ahmed added that he already briefed President Muse Bihi Abdi on his experience in the area.

He commended President Bihi’s decision to pull out government troops from Las Anod.
