Ali Jeyte has been appointed the head of the President’s Office for the Local Fighters.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Jeyte into the new office on Sunday.
Jeyte, the immediate former Governor of Hiiraan and a former federal legislator, starts work immediately.
The President hailed him for the role he played in freeing many HirShabelle areas from Al-Shabaab.
While serving as the Governor of Hiiraan, Jeyte was quite instrumental in leading the fight against the terrorist group in the region.
