Authorities have confirmed that a journalist was one of the people killed in an explosion that caused the death of the Mogadishu police commander.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the explosion that killed Brigadier General Farhan Mohamoud Aden Qarole on Friday, September 30.
It’s now confirmed that Ahmed Mohamed So’dal, a local journalist, also lost his life in the same deadly attack.
At the time of his death, So’dal had been reporting the counterterrorism operations that security forces were conducting in the region.
So’dal’s colleagues have described him as a brave and talented journalist who committed himself to serving the country diligently and ultimately sacrificed his life for Somalia.
