Two journalists were the targets of a violent attack in the Somaliland capital city.
According to reports from Hargeisa, the journalists who survived the attack have been identified as Ali Mahdi Jibril and Abdisalan Ahmed Awad.
Apparently, officers from Somaliland Intelligence Agency physically attacked the two journalists on March 18.
At the time, the journalists were moving from a hotel right at the center of the city.
Armed officers fired thrice at the vehicle the journalists were traveling in before attacking them physically.
Jibril mentioned that the officers also threw stones at their car thus shattering its windows.
He said that they feared for their lives during the onslaught.
The officers told the journalists that they should stop criticizing President Muse Bihi Abdi.
Awad was beaten unconscious before being rushed to the hospital from where he was discharged the following day, on Saturday.
