Somalia’s Jubaland State has published the names of candidates for the remaining senatorial seats.
Jubaland has already conducted partial polls.
However, it hasn’t held elections for the four remaining senator seats.
President Ahmed Islam Madobe announced the names of the candidates on October 19.
While making the announcement, President Madobe also stated that the region had set aside two more seats for women.
Jubaland’s State Indirect Elections Team (SIET) now has to release a timetable for the upcoming elections.
Candidates whose names were published now have to appear before Jubaland’s Regional Parliament to convince parliamentarians to elect them.
