The Jubbaland administration has accused President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of negotiating the Dhusamareb talks with Federal Member States (FMS) in bad faith.
A statement from the Office of the President of Jubbaland dated February 6 said that the Dhusamareb talks collapsed because Farmaajo “negotiated in bad faith.”
In the statement, which was posted through Abshir Mohamed, the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, Jubbaland said it made several compromises.
The statement shows that Farmaajo rejected the compromises that Jubbaland made through the intervention of President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland.
Consequently, Jubbaland asked Farmaajo to take responsibility for failure to hold timely and credible elections.
Jubbaland also stated that its leader, President Ahmed Islam Mohamed Madobe, attended the National Consultative Conference in Dhusamareb in good faith.
Furthermore, the semiautonomous state accused Mogadishu of constantly erecting roadblocks in its path to avoid reaching any form of consensus or agreement.
