Somalia’s regional states of Jubbaland and Southwest would be working closely together to reduce the effects of the ongoing drought.
This emerged on December 16 when President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland held talks with President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of Southwest.
Madobe and Laftagareen discussed security cooperation too.
Jubbaland is one of the worst affected regions in the country by the drought.
There are fears that the situation could create an unimaginable humanitarian crisis in Jubbaland and other parts of the country.
The two leaders met on Thursday in Kismayo.
