The regional state of Jubbaland has awarded certificates of candidacy to contestants interested in the ongoing elections for parliamentary seats.
Jubbaland’s State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) delivered the certificates of candidacy on Saturday, March 19.
First, it issued the certificates to Abdullahi Muktar Mohamed and Mohamed Abdirahin Nadiif.
The two are vying to represent HOP#124 at the House of the People (Lower House).
Next, the regional SEIT awarded certificates of candidacy to Ahmed Mohamud Jamaa and Abdiqani Ali Isse.
Jamaa and Isse are battling for the right to represent HOP#029 at the federal parliament in Mogadishu.
Elections for both seats would take place in Kismayo.
