A Jubbaland fugitive has declared his intentions to wage an all-out war against the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Abdirashid Janan, the local Minister of Security, said that the local forces loyal to him would not relent in their war against the Somali government.
Janan is a fugitive wanted by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s administration for a long time.
On January 24-25, forces allied to the fugitive minister engaged federal government troops in a deadly shootout that caused the deaths of 11 people.
On Friday, Janan told government troops to expect further attacks from his soldiers.
Furthermore, he encouraged civilians in Gedo region to avoid spending time in the area.
Instead, he advised them to leave the areas where violence and shootouts between his forces and government troops are most likely to occur.
