The leader of the regional state of Jubbaland held discussions with the newly-elected Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) in Mogadishu.
Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe met with Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe in Mogadishu.
President Madobe is in the nation’s capital awaiting the election of the new President of Somalia on Sunday, May 15.
Several regional state leaders are in Mogadishu for the same reason too.
The Jubbaland leader congratulated Speaker Madobe for emerging victorious in the recent elections for the leadership of the federal parliament.
He also expressed gratitude at the decision by Speaker Madobe to recognize the election of 16 legislators in El-Wak.
The Speaker ruled that the lawmakers elected in El-Wak were the bona fide representatives of Gedo in parliament instead of those whose elections took place in Garbaharey.
