Justice Ministry Consults Parliament on Juvenile Justice Bill

The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs held a consultative meeting with federal parliamentarians on Wednesday.

The meeting between ministry officials and legislators from the Senate (Upper House) and House of Representatives (Lower House) took place at the parliamentary buildings.

Ministry officials reminded parliamentarians of the importance of the Juvenile Justice Bill to Somali youths.

Meanwhile, members of both chambers of parliament commended the initiative and vowed to support the bill once it is presented before them.

The Council of Cabinet has already endorsed the bill that now awaits Upper House approval. It seeks to provide Somali youths with access to fair legal treatment.
