Mohamed Kahin Ahmed has called upon the Somaliland Coast Guard to be on high alert.
Kahin, who is Somaliland’s Minister of Interior, made the call this week.
He was speaking while visiting the coast guard’s general command on an inspection tour.
The minister received briefings from the coast guard’s top officers on their activities.
Kahin asked the coast guard to ensure that Somaliland’s beaches and ports are highly secure in the face of possible external threats.
