Kenya Accused of Arming Janan Forces in Baled Hawa Clashes

Kenya has been accused of arming the forces allied to fugitive Abdirashid Janan in the two-day clashes in Baled Hawa.

On January 24-25, this town in Gedo region experienced deadly clashes and shootouts that caused the deaths of 11 people, who included five children from the same family.

More than 20 people were injured. Tens of those were then airlifted to Mogadishu for medical treatment on Monday night.

Now, the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has accused Kenya of supporting the militia.

According to the Somali government, the militia crossed over into the country from Kenya on Saturday night.

The Kenyan government is yet to respond to the latest allegations from Mogadishu of its involvement in the deadly Baled Hawa clashes.
