Kenya Airways Cancellation of Flights to Mogadishu Won’t Affect Other International Airlines

Somalia’s State Minister for Aviation, Abdikarim Abdow Haydar, has emphasized that the Somali aviation market remains open and competitive.

He was responding to Kenya Airways’ recent suspension of its operations in Mogadishu due to growing competition from local low-cost airlines.

In a phone interview with a section of the media, he added that this development reflects transparency in the aviation sector and ruled out any negative impact on other international airlines.

Haydar stressed that the move benefits Somali citizens by promoting more affordable travel options, showing the positive side of the competitive environment.
