Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced that it will suspend flights to Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, starting October 14.
It cited “operational challenges” as the primary reason for its cancellation of the flights to Mogadishu.
Sources within the Somali aviation authority suggest that the airline’s decision is largely driven by increased competition from low-cost Somali airlines, which has impacted KQ’ market viability in the region.
This move highlights the growing competitiveness of Somali carriers, offering more affordable options to travelers.
The suspension may also affect travel options between the two countries, particularly for business and diplomatic missions.
