Kenyan, Djiboutian, and Ethiopian Leaders Expected in Somalia for Regional Summit

Kenyan, Djiboutian, and Ethiopian leaders are expected in Somalia today for a regional summit on tackling terrorism.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia will host President William Ruto (Kenya), President Ismail Omar Guelleh (Djibouti), and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ethiopia).

The four leaders would be in Somalia for a one-day extraordinary summit.

Other participants at the summit in Mogadishu will be defense ministers and army chiefs from the four states.

African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) will send its commanders to the summit.

The purpose of the summit is to provide the leaders with a platform for discussing the need to strengthen partnerships in the fight against international terrorism.
