Ambassador Maj. Gen. Thomas Chepkuto has presented his credentials to Somalia’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Maj. Gen. Chepkuto is Kenya’s new Ambassador to Somalia.
He presented his credentials to Abshir Omar Jama, Somalia’s new foreign affairs minister, in Mogadishu on August 16.
Outgoing Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Maj. Gen. Chepkuto the Head of the Kenyan Mission in Mogadishu on April 24, 2022.
Maj. Gen. Chepkuto takes over from Ambassador Lucas Tumbo, who has been the Head of the Kenyan Mission in Mogadishu since 2015.
Jama welcomed Maj. Gen. Chepkuto to Somalia and wished him success in his new role.
