The Deputy Chairman of Somaliland’s ruling Kulmiye Party has defected to SSC-Khatumo.
Hussein Aden Adde, who is the third Deputy Chairman of the party, defected to SSC-Khatumo on Monday.
He announced his defection during a media interview.
While defecting, Adde commended SSC-Khatumo for the almost year-long resistance to Somaliland forces in the region.
His defection is unlikely to go down well with President Muse Bihi Abdi and other Kulmiye leaders.
He becomes the second high-profile Somaliland official to resign and join SSC-Khatumo.
Adde follows the footsteps of Speaker Abdirisakh Khalif Ahmed of parliament who resigned from his office five months ago to join SSC-Khatumo.
