The leader of the regional state of Southwest has issued parliamentary credentials to the newly elected House of the People (Lower House) legislators.
Southwest was among the first regional states in Somalia to conclude elections for Lower House seats before the March 15 deadline.
President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen issued the new parliamentarians with credentials and certificates on March 26.
The credentials and certificates enable the legislators to represent Southwest at the federal parliament in Mogadishu for the next four years.
He awarded newly elected members of the Senate (Upper House) with similar credentials and certificates too in Saturday’s functions.
