President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen has been in the Somalia capital since last week for the presidential elections.
His plane departed the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu on Thursday afternoon.
He arrived at Baidoa, the Southwest administrative capital, to a warm welcome from members of his administration and security officers.
