Catriona Laing and Souef Mohamed El-Amine held talks with senior African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) officers in Mogadishu.
The meeting between Laing, El-Amine and the ATMIS personnel took place on Wednesday.
Laing and El-Amine were in the meeting in their official capacities as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the UN and the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission (SRCC) respectively.
El-Amine doubles as the Head of ATMIS too.
They met with ATMIS’ Force Commander, Deputy Force Commander, and sector commanders.
They shared ideas, suggestions, and lessons on the just ended second phase of the drawdown of ATMIS forces from Somalia.
