Larry Andre Earns US Senate’s Approval as New US Ambassador to Somalia

Larry Andre has earned the approval of the United States Senate to be the new US Ambassador to Somalia.

The US Senate approved his appointment.

President Joe Biden appointed him recently.

Andre is now poised to take over from the outgoing Ambassador Donald Yamamoto, who has been the US diplomat in the East African nation for the last three years.

The new US Ambassador to Somalia has been a career diplomat since 1990.

Previously, Andre has represented the United States in Djibouti and Mauritania in an ambassadorial capacity.
