Las Anod Clashes Kill Hundreds and Displace Thousands, Says UNFPA

The ongoing violent clashes in Las Anod have killed hundreds and displaced thousands of people.

A report by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) said that the clashes have disrupted the residents’ way of life.

As per the UNFPA report, which is the result of the work of several agencies, 170 people have died so far.

The report provided figures as of February 13.

Those killed in the clashes included a mother and her seven kids.

In the report, UNFPA and the other agencies added that 500 people have suffered different types of injuries.

The report avers that 185,282 individuals have joined the growing list of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Somalia.

This new crop of IDPs has now moved to nearby regions, villages, and towns.
