The entire leadership of the Youth Wing of Wadani Party of Somaliland has resigned from office upon the expiry of their tenure.
The leadership, which comprises 12 members, resigned together today citing the end of their term.
They refuted reports that their resignation had to do with differences in the party.
The Chairman of the Youth Wing, Mohamed Sidik Dhame, confirmed that all 12 members occupying various offices within the group had tendered their resignations.
Furthermore, Dhame said he would not be seeking reelection but reassured supporters that he is now ready to take up fresh responsibilities within the party.
He insisted that his colleagues felt the need to set a precedent by being the first group of youth party officials to win elections democratically and leave office democratically too.
