A leading Somali cleric passed away while receiving medical attention in Mogadishu.
Reports from the Somalia capital indicate that Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Muhiyadin Eli passed away on March 22.
Sheikh Eli was aged 70 years at the time of his death.
According to families and friends, Sheikh Eli had been unwell and receiving treatment for the past couple of days.
