Locals in Puntland Helping Displaced Families

Locals in the regional state of Puntland are helping displaced families.

The locals have been assisting around 500 families displaced by the ongoing drought in the region.

Most of these families are in areas such as Mudug and Nugal.

Many others are in Somali Regional State in Ethiopia too.

The families are currently gathered in Bursalah in search of food and water. They all claim that the drought has hit them hard.

Consequently, they have no option but to flee their homes in search of a better life elsewhere.

Last month, locals donated various types of food and other essentials to each displaced family.

The donations included flour, rice, and sugar. Each family received 10kgs of each in addition to plastic water containers. They also received bedding.
