A huge explosion rocked Mogadishu’s famous Lido Beach.
According to witnesses and authorities in the area, the explosions were caused by armed militants who made their way into Elite Hotel.
Consequently, medics have put the number of people injured during the raid at 28 with further reports indicating that the casualties could rise higher.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that a senior officer working with the country’s Ministry of Information could have been killed during the raid.
Several of the people injured in the incident have already been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
