The Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) met with the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia on May 28.
Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe held a consultative meeting with Ambassador Hassan bin Hamza in Mogadishu.
Ambassador Hamza paid Speaker Madobe a courtesy call at the latter’s office.
Somalia and Qatar have not enjoyed stellar diplomatic relations after years of accusing the Middle East nation of meddling in its internal affairs.
The accusations grew in volume during the reign of ex-President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo between 2017 and 2022.
