Abdulkadir M. Nur Siidi, the Governor of Lower Shabelle, paid a courtesy call to the Commander of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in the region.
Governor Siidi visited Colonel Jimmy Nabiyu Musoke, the Commander of AMISOM contingent from Uganda.
Col. Musoke leads the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), based in Arbiska, which is roughly 30 kilometers to the northwest of Mogadishu.
Governor Siidi and Col. Musoke met on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Siidi expressed gratitude to Col. Musoke and the entire AMISOM force for working closely with local security agents to keep the region secure for all.
The Governor also reminded Col. Musoke of the excellent diplomatic and bilateral ties that Somalia enjoys with Uganda.
