Somalia’s Minister of Family and Human Rights, Lt. Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama, attended the 6th Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) meeting in New York.
The minister reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to empowering women in peacebuilding.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of enhancing the role of women in national security and leadership.
Somalia continues to work towards integrating women into key decision-making positions and ensuring their active participation in peace processes.
He said such steps would reflect the nation’s dedication to promoting gender equality and fostering a more inclusive society.
